Cromwell Chill Soccer Fall 2018 Registration
Online Registration for 2018-2019 Season
NEW and EXISTING Players

Opens on May 1, 2018
Registration Closes June 15th, 2018

The Cromwell Chill Soccer Club is now registering new players for the Fall, 2018 and Spring 2019 season.  If you are currently in grades 2nd through 7th, you can register to try out for one of our teams.  Registration is via our club website Any registration questions you have, please contact our club registrar Mike Holcomb at   or via cell (860-982-3637).  For technical questions related to the online registration process please contact our Director of Communications Kenneth Pramuka

The Cromwell Chill Soccer Club is a non-profit organization and a member of the Connecticut Junior Soccer Association (CJSA).  Our teams compete in leagues sponsored by the Central and North Central Districts and participate in tournaments against clubs from other towns.  Once registered, each player must try-out for an age appropriate team.  The try-out dates will be scheduled on a team-by-team basis and will occur in June.

The Chill teams are formed based on gender, age, and skill.  Last year, the club had approximately 200 players participating on 6 boys teams and 6 girls teams as well as our spring high school aged teams.  Each age & gender has its own team and coach from U9 (under 9 years old) to U15.  US Soccer recently reformed the age alignment to a calendar year system, meaning for U9 all 2010 birth year kids, U10 all 2009 birth year kids, etc.

The U9, U10, teams will play 7v7 on a smaller field, U11, U12 play 9v9 on a smaller field, U13 thru U15 play 11v11 on a full size field.  The U9 & U10 age groups are considered our developmental teams as they work to prepare for more competitive soccer.

The registration fee, which is due when registering, is $200 and covers the cost of fielding a team, state registration fees, referees, a Fall Tournament. The Fee increases to $240 after the registration deadline. In addition to the registration fee, and once your child is placed on a team, you will need to purchase the uniform kit which the players keep (approximately $70-$80), from our vendor, Team Sports. A link will be provided for the online purchase through Team Sports. If a player is not selected for a team or there are not enough players for a specific age group, then the registration fee will be refunded.  Family discounts for multiple players are $10 for each player in the family.

To register a new player, please log in to select the online registration link for NEW player. You will be prompted to create a user name and password.  You will need to upload a digital copy of a birth certificate for NEW players, and a photo of the player, along with the secured online credit card payment of $200 for the registration fee ($240 after deadline).    The deadline for all registrations (new and renewal) to be received is June 15th 2018   PLEASE MAKE SURE ALL PLAYER INFORMATION AND DIGITAL UPLOADS ARE COMPLETED ONLINE.

US Youth Soccer Birth-Year Registration Mandate

US Youth Soccer statement on U.S. Soccer’s birth-year registration mandate

FRISCO, TEXAS (Jan. 26, 2016) — As previously announced in August 2015, US Youth Soccer, along with other youth soccer sanctioning bodies, will be implementing the U.S. Soccer Federation’s birth-year registration mandates on Aug. 1, 2016.

This means that beginning Aug. 1, 2016 all regional and national US Youth Soccer competitions, including all levels of the US Youth Soccer National Championship SeriesUS Youth Soccer National LeagueUS Youth Soccer Olympic Development ProgramUS Youth Soccer Regional Leagues andUS Youth Soccer Presidents Cup, will be based on age group cut-offs of January 1 for each age group. Due to additional interpretative changes by U.S. Soccer since this announcement in how competition age groups are labeled, US Youth Soccer and other sanctioning bodies are now clarifying the age group structures for the 2016-2017 season.

  • Beginning Aug. 1, 2017, all youth soccer sanctioning organizations will form competitions based on birth-year age groups.

  • Beginning Aug. 1, 2016, US Youth Soccer will be using the following birth-year “labels” for competition, based upon the season in which competition ends. For example:

    • Players born from August 1, 1997 – December 31, 1998 will be labeled as Under-19/20s.

    • Players born from January 1, 1999 – December 31, 1999 will be labeled as Under-18s.

    • Players born from January 1, 2000 – December 31, 2000 will be labeled as Under-17s.

    • Players born from January 1, 2001 – December 31, 2001 will be labeled as Under-16s.

    • Players born from January 1, 2002 – December 31, 2002 will be labeled as Under-15s.

    • Players born from January 1, 2003 – December 31, 2003 will be labeled as Under-14s.

    • Players born from January 1, 2004 – December 31, 2004 will be labeled as Under-13s.

  • With the exception of the US Youth Soccer Under-19/20s, the age group “label” will be determined by subtracting the year in which the players participating in the competition were born from the year in which competition ends.

The change to birth year age groups and to the “labels” for naming each age group have been made by U.S. Soccer. You may view the U.S. Soccer matrix here, please note the definition for US Youth Soccer Under-19/20s competitions above.

US Youth Soccer, along with other members of the U.S. Soccer Federation, have been collaborating with each other to help ensure that these changes forced by the U.S. Soccer mandates are implemented as efficiently and smoothly as possible. This collaboration of youth members is ongoing, and each member is continuing to provide feedback and recommendations.

Clubs may continue to organize their teams for competition with players of any age younger than the age group cut-off.

The US Youth Soccer Board of Directors encourages US Youth Soccer State Associations to transition as they deem necessary to accommodate their soccer landscape at the local level.
